Many are assuming, and with good reason, that the Infinity Wars story arc will come to a conclusion with Avengers: End Game, and thus begin a new arc; Phase 4, if you will. However, what if Phase 4 has actually already began? We shouldn’t underestimate Marvel’s capacity to jump timelines and confuse the crap out of us; after all, they own the Time Stone.
It may come as a surprise, but there is actually a slew of evidence pointing to the fact that Phase 4 may have, in fact, already begun, and that Deadpool plays a key role in this revelation. You see, the Deadpool movies may actually take place in the same MCU as the Avengers, only AFTER the conclusion of the Infinity Wars. While Cap, Iron Man, and the rest of the gang are fighting Thanos in the “past”, it’s actually the Deadpool movies that take place in the present. How else would Deadpool be able to reference characters such as Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Thanos? If he knows that they exist, he and everyone else existing in the Deadpool movies, must know about the Infinity Wars and know what happens in End Game.
This video dives into the possibility of two worlds colliding; the Avengers mixing it up with Deadpool. This mash-up becomes all the more possible with the recent acquisition of Fox Entertainment by Disney, meaning Disney now owns the rights to ALL Marvel characters and can really start to open things up in their cinematic universe by introducing a bevy of interesting new characters. Time will tell how they do it, but it appears as though Deadpool in the Disney MCU is inevitable.
