Credit Hacking: Can you hack your credit to get a better credit score? Actually, yes. Learn how!

Credit Hacking: Can you hack your credit to get a better credit score? Actually, yes. Learn how! First, what is a hack? "Hack" means many things. Relevant to this video, we're referring to the concept of doing things more efficiently, like a "shortcut."

So, the question is: Can you hack your credit? Meaning, can you do something to improve your credit in a quick, efficient way?

We discuss this concept here:

The answer is "yes." There are effective ways to accomplish credit goals and there are ways to speed up that process. However, you can quickly get into some questionable practices.

For example, there are so-called "credit sweeps" (which we discuss in a video here: and illegal hacking into credit bureaus (which is really people just lying to the credit bureaus, which is just as illegal).

So, the question becomes: Can you hack your credit legally? The answer remains "yes."

First of all, most people using the term "credit hacking" are referring to credit repair. They're just using a cool sounding buzz word to make you think they're doing something other (and better) than credit repair. At best, this is misleading.

But, there actually is a credit hack, in the true sense of the term. It's calling piggybacking credit.

There's no faster way to increase credit scores and piggybacking: This consist of you being added as an authorized user to a pre-existing line of credit. In doing so, your credit report is backdated with the history of that account, which can positively impact your credit score (assuming the account is in good standing).
