Youth Rehabilitation Center Cook Prepares Meals For Troubled Kids With A Secret Ingredient ... Love

As a part of our continuing series that focuses on "The American Worker" we check in with Tanishia Barnes, a cook for the Maryland Department of Youth Rehabilitation Center and member of AFSCME Council 20.

Barnes has a secret ingredient for all of her food ... that ingredient is love. It’s the special sauce in the meals that she cooks and serves to the young people at New Beginnings Youth Development Center.

As she serves meals, Tanishia reminds them that it’s not the past that matters, but what they do going forward. By serving up hope and love, Tanishia makes a positive impact every single day.
