Bloomberg ran a story on Virgil Abloh, detailing his myriad successes and particularly his hyperprolific style of snagging and dropping collabs. Nicholas Ghesquiere could never! The piece also zeroes in on one key aspect of Abloh’s success: Insta-presence and answering DM’s. “Abloh’s rise has been fueled at least in part by an uncanny ability to create bridges with fans,” according to the piece, “He answers an inordinately high number of direct messages on Instagram and even responds to tagged photos.” Highsnobiety’s Jeff Carvalho says, “He’s one of us.” Need advice on how to make it big?
