Asking Investors For Proof of Funds

In this episode Joe and Theo answer listener question:
"I have a specific question on raising money for a deal. You said that you want to get a commitment from people and have the money lined up prior to finding a deal. This is opposite somewhat from the way single family housing is done as you know. So my question is, in order for these brokers to take me seriously, also for my own knowledge, should I be asking for my potential investors to provide me with proof of funds for the money they say they have to invest? (Having Trouble with Proof of Funds?)"
