How To Do A WIDE GRIP PUSH UP WITH FINGERS POINTING OUTWARD ON KNEES | Exercise Demonstration Video The Wide Grip Push Up With Fingers Pointing Outward On Knees is a beginner push up variation that targets the outside of the chest, as well as the triceps and shoulders. To get started:
1. Place your hands on the ground directly below your shoulders, with a wide, fingers pointing outwards grip.
2. Place your knees on the floor with your ankles raised and crossed behind you.
3. Keep your core contracted to ensure your lower back doesn’t overarch and your upper body forms a straight line from your hips to the top of your head.
4. Complete the push up by bending your elbows to lower your body to the ground, then press your hands through the ground to return to the starting position.
5. You should feel more of a contraction in the outside area of your chest.
6. Repeat for reps.
