To speed up the Indo-Nepal border road project stranded in the forest's NOC for four years, the predetermined route will be changed. This decision has been taken by the Core Committee on protection of environment and wildlife. In the revised proposal sent to the Center, it has been suggested to widen the roads passing through the Katarniaghat Wildlife Vihar. This will save about one and a half lakh trees of the century area. The state has about 570 km long Indo-Nepal border parallel to Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Maharajganj and Siddharthnagar. Of this, 299 km is the border Tiger Reserve and Century area. In the year 2014, under the Border Area Development, the survey conducted for parallel road construction of the border, a large part of the Century area of ​​Tiger Reserve and Bahraich was coming up. This has led to road construction. Now, the proposal has been sent to the central government to change the predetermined project route to Girijapuri road via Mihipurwa, Bichhiya of Katarnia Century area and the road to border area development. There is also talk of connecting all the BOPs of SSB with these roads. This is the revised project plan

To save 13,000 trees of Dudhwa National Park in Lakhimpur Kheri, a road will be taken out from the south of the forest.
