God's Particular Will and God's General Will - The Will of God for Your Life (Jonah) [2019]

Do not even think you can run from the presence of the LORD! His particular will for you is a requirement that saves you when you obey it. When you disobey it, not only to you risk losing your salvation and perishing, but you may put in jeopardy many people. Jonah put in jeopardy an entire city that was so large it took 3 days to cross on foot. He also put his own life and salvation at risk.

What is it that the LORD has for you to do in particular that you are angry at Him for choosing for your life? Quit bowing down to the idol in your imagination about what you want your life to be like. Lose your life and you will find it, the way God has planned it. He has chosen the best possible route for your life so that your life will be the best possibility for you. You cannot see what will come beyond the next few moments, let alone the next day or week or month. So why do you proudly exalt your ideas for your life above what God in particular wants for you? REPENT!

Do not go the path of Jonah. Notice that even after he obeyed the LORD and preached He was angry with the LORD. Be careful! The LORD is not obligated to show the same patience and mercy to you that He showed to Jonah! Repent while you still can! Be like the Ninevites,toward the word and will of the LORD, not like Jonah.

The will of God for your life is expressed in God's general will in Scripture and the teachings of the Church. The will of God for your life is also expressed by the LORD daily to you in God's particular will for you. You must obey both the general will of God and the particular will of God in order to be saved. There is no way around this.
