Inoculating Biochar with Integrated Livestock

Inoculating Biochar with Integrated Livestock Inoculating Biochar with integrated livestock is a quick and simple method of charging your biochar before adding it to your soil.

Biochar is an amazing substance that provides massive amounts of pore space for microbes to live and thrive, BUT, putting fresh Biochar directly into the soil will have a little immediate effect beyond water retention. After some time, the carbon molecules catch enough nutrients and we see results in plant growth.

It is possible to speed up this process by inoculating the Biochar before it is added to the soil.

Inoculation is as simple as soaking Biochar with any fertilizer for 12-24hrs. Fertilizers can be chemical or organic – such as compost tea, worm castings, sea-sol, aged manure or even urine.

Biochar can soak up urine and transform it into an odorless solid organic fertilizer that increases soil organic matter and promotes microbial soil life.
