The reason your baseboard heater makes clicking sounds

The reason your baseboard heater makes clicking sounds When the pipe expands or contracts, the metal fins slide on the holders making the clicking sound. This video is a X16 speed time lapse. This particular baseboard heater is an electric heater. The same principal follows for water heating and other baseboard systems. With other systems, the water return pipe might also be causing clicking sounds sliding on it's own carrier or sliding on wood going through a wall.

Consider getting a spacer, a piece of insulation, or special made pipe or fins carrier to eliminate the clicking sounds. You may also use wires to hang the pipes or fins. DO NOT use paper or card board as it may smoke up and cause a hazard.
