Hello 👋 my name is Sara welcome to my channel Crochet for Baby. In today's tutorial I will show you how to crochet this 0 to 3 months newborn crochet baby hat. This tutorial is for a basic crochet baby beanie hat pattern that is perfect for beginners. This little hat matches my Kindness Day newborn baby crochet cardigan sweater that I show you a few weeks back. Here’s the link and the baby dress shown on baby doll link
To make this easy crochet newborn baby beanie hat I used medíum #4 yarn with a 5mm hook. I used 50 grams of yarn. You can also make it slightly bigger by just changing your hook size. See below.
Newborn use 4mm hook with #4 yarn
0-3 months use 5mm hook with #4 yarn
3-6 months use 5.5mm hook with #4 yarn
6-9 months use 6mm hook with #4 yarn
9-12 months use 6.5mm hook with #4 yarn
You can also make it in any size for any age from newborn baby to adults with the following standard measurements. Just make sure to stretch your brim a bit when measuring or head circumference. There is no stitch multiples just make sure to start reducing your hat when you have 1.5 to 2 inches left from the total height of your hat for the size that you’re making.
NB-1M Circumference of 32CM - Height of 14 cm
1-3M Circumference of 34.5cm -Total Height is 15 cm
3-6M Circumference of 37 cm -Total Height is 16 cm
6-9M Circumference of 38 cm -Total Height is 16.5 cm
9-12M Circumference of 39.5 cm - Height is 16.5 cm
12-18M Circumference of 41 cm - Height is 17.5 cm
18-24M Circumference of 43 cm - Height is 18.5 cm
2 to 5 yrs Circumference 45.5 cm - Height is 19.5 cm
6 to 10 yrs Circumference 48 cm - Height is 20.5 cm
Teens Circumference of 51 cm - Height is 22 cm
Adult Women Circumference 53.5 cm - Height 23 cm
Adult Men Circumference of 56 cm - Height is 24 cm
