Factory Knowledge No.2: Cluster sets and training the adaptation.

Factory Knowledge No.2: Cluster sets and training the adaptation. Factory Knowledge is a weekly video series about Action Sports Performance. Each week I will go through a few topics and answer your questions on training, nutrition, racing, lifting, and generally preparing for whatever adventure or challenge lies ahead.
In Factory Knowledge No.2 I introduce you to cluster sets and how you can implement them in your training to boost your strength in a safe and time efficient manner. They can be used as part of your training for any sport and I use them with a wide range of athletes for both bodyweight and barbell training.
The second part of this episode is about the concept of "Training the adaptation, not the exercise." Too many people (coaches included) get fixated on doing certain exercises, when they should be fixated on the adaptation that occurs as a result of the exercise.
For example, unless you are a power lifter then you do not HAVE to deadlift or back squat. As somebody training to improve their health and sports performance, you may choose to deadlift or squat to get stronger legs, but you do not HAVE to do those exercises. They are just tools to get the adaptations in your body to boost your performance.
