Hey guys, a topic that is gaining headway in medicine is "physician burnout," a mix of decreased efficiency, self worth, increased cynicism, and high rates of depression in "frontline healthcare workers" such as doctors and nurses.
Another term for the discrepancy between a physicians morals and wishes to treat their patients versus the bureaucratic requirements imposed by the healthcare system is "moral injury"
I'd like to open up about my experience through medical residency, and I really think if our society is more aware of this issue, we can make some headway on how to help change the structure of Healthcare as a whole!
