Chasing Realism - A Games Journalism Quandary

Chasing Realism - A Games Journalism Quandary In the pursuit of making games incapable of offence... journalism has run into a wall that they may not be able to navigate around.

For decades, the pursuit of realism has been a fundamental portion of many gaming breakthroughs... but as Modern Warfare attempts to make (perhaps) one of the largest thematic steps yet, it has started to breach the comfort zone of Journalists, with their heightened sensitivity, well in advance of average players.

Because of that discrepancy, it will be interesting to see how the release shapes up in the future. Realism, and possible offence and inextricably linked... I guess its time to see some journalistic contortions.
