Manchester United are set be handed another boost ahead of their crunch clash with rivals Liverpool as Anthony Martial is back in contention to play. The United forward has been out of action since injuring his thigh in the 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in August. United have struggled for goals and points since his spell on the sidelines began, but he could now join three other players who have recovered from injury to be a part of the squad this weekend. BBC reporter Simon Stone tweeted that the Frenchman will be returning to training some time this week, although the actual date is as yet unknown. Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already been boosted by the fitness of Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw ahead of Sunday's contest, with Martial now a welcome bonus. Solskjaer is under pressure to save United's season, and his job, when league leaders Liverpool come to Old Trafford and bid to maintain their 100 per cent start to the Premier League campaign. The return of Martial in particular is timely, given United have scored just twice in their previous five matches in all competitions - with one of those coming against League Two Rochdale. Martial had netted two goals in his first two games before he limped out of the clash with the Eagles, leaving Marcus Rashford to carry the burden for his team. Shaw was injured in the same match, but looks set to be available for the clash along with Wan-Bissaka who has recovered from illness, and Paul Pogba, who has missed five of United's last seven matches. Meanwhile on-loan United striker Alexis Sanchez could face up to three months on the sidelines after suffering an injury with national side Chile. The forward is currently at Inter Milan until the remainder of the season, but now looks likely to miss a significant chunk of the season. Sanchez dislocated ankle tendons in Chile's draw with Colombia on Saturday, and could now face surgery. Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda said: “You have to see if the club [Inter] will operate on Alexis or not. You have to see what diagnosis the club will make because he is decisive for us. "If he has surgery you will lose him for two to three months, if not, it can be weeks, that depends on the club. You always want to have them all here and losing Alexis is a shame, he was cheerful and super motivated."
