DIY Wooden Stool Makeover | Revamping Old Stool | Upcycling Furniture | DIY Stool Painting

In this video you will learn how an old utility stool is transformed into a beautiful piece of decor...

*Process and materials used* :

1# The laminate on top surface was cracked & chipped that had to be peeled off...
The complete stool was first smoothen with sandpaper...
The rough surface on the top has been sanded and levelled...
The half peeled layer of wood in the inner side of the table is removed and sanded to make it even...

2# LAYER 1: The top of the stool is covered with masking tape to hide some visible nails and other unevenness...

3# LAYER 2: Sticking old newspaper panel cutouts overall on top, inside and on the upper side of the stool using Diy decoupage glue...
(You can use mod podge too)

4# LAYER 3. Covering with plain reverse side of white copier paper stripes...
(I have used paper panels and stripes cutouts to avoid wrinkling and bubbling inbetween)

5#. Applying 2 layers of CAMLIN gesso as a primer as well as to give evenness to the irregular surface...
Sand the surface after its dried.

6#. Coloring the complete stool with a chalk paint (can also use any Acrylic colour )
Have used Immix Chalk Paint - Spring Meadow Green shade from Amazon
It gave a smooth coat and thus has become my favourite product for Coloring in my other projects.



7#. Made a Mandala Design and traced it on the top...

8#. First coloured the complete mandala design with white gesso so that the other Colors adheres to the surface and gives a very bright look...



For design have used #CAMLIN & #FEVICRYL ACRYLIC COLORS which gave a very vibrant look.
(Though Neon Colors did the magic to the complete stool)


9# Design enchacing with dot art and outlining...

10#. Finally finished off with #ASIANPAINTS SYNTHETIC VARNISH which will act as a sealant and protection...

And The Stool is ready!!!
