Since we do indeed read all your comments (even the stupid ones), while we might not always reply, we do listen. So, I was going to do my own EDC video, but I've been trying to get Shane Kerwin to do a few medical videos for Tactical Rifleman.... Why not have him cover his EDC? After all, he teaches Modern Urban awareness & survival for a living. SHane is another one of those "hidden gems" in the instructor world, similar to Randy "Rawhide" Wurst. Shane, too, is a retired Green Beret. He was an awesome 18Delta Medic. He also taught at our SF Sniper Course at my old unit. While I can teach the basics of many subjects; I prefer to bring in actual Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) whenever possible to tailor a course to each subject. In the case of Medical training, I consider Shane my "go to" SME for training.
So, first, I want to ask you "What is your EDC?" Many don't even realize that they have an EDC. Everyone does. It might just be your Wallet, keys, and phone; but that is still a substantial EDC if you tailor it right. The Phone is not just a phone, but a handheld computer. Do you have additional apps on it that can help you in an emergency or survival situation? Mapping, medical references, tracking, survival guides, I can go on and on just listing great apps and books that you should have loaded on your phone.
Second, I want you to ask yourself "what is my own situation?" "What do I need?" You'll find, if you are honest, and give it some thought, you probably should carry a few extra items.
I carry a knife. I also carry a lighter. No, I don't smoke.
Do you need to carry a pistol with 3 extra mags? You do if you are just posting EDC pictures on one of the Pew Pew pages of Instagram. For me, situation will dictate whether I carry a gun or not, and what gun(s) I will carry.
Medical is often overlooked, which is backwards. If your focus is always just "GUNs" you are wrong. Remember, knowledge will always be your best tool, your best weapon, and knowledge will always be power. Power to help you solve any situation that you get yourself into. Having $2000 worth of medical gear doesn't help you if you don't know how to use it. So, training is important.
Likewise, having the best EDC gear at home doesn't help you if you don't have it with you.
