Festive times in Fairview for visiting medicine and nursing students

Festive times in Fairview for visiting medicine and nursing students What a weekend to be in Fairview, AB. 43 nursing and medicine students from the University of Alberta were there in late August for an RhPAP sponsored skills weekend.

Besides learning new skills like ultrasound and suturing, the students took in the Summer's End Festival. The main street through downtown was closed for an antique car show, bouncy castles, games, entertainment, food booths, beer gardens and an evening street dance.

It was a terrific opportunity for the students to experience the rural lifestyle and experience how friendly and welcoming people in Fairview are.

The students also visited historic Dunvegan Provincial Park, where historic interpreters told them about the fascinating history of fur trading in the area.
