Policy Dilemmas Regarding the Distinctiveness of the Solo Self-Employed - Jerzy Cieślik

Policy Dilemmas Regarding the Distinctiveness of the Solo Self-Employed - Jerzy Cieślik In this video Jerzy Cieślik discusses his recent research presented at the Annual Global Research Workshop on Freelancing and Self-Employment 2018.

His research examines the regulatory framework in Poland in order to establish how policymakers can create better environment for the solo self-employed.

He finds that there is a growing population of solo self-employed people in the Polish context and yet policymakers have limited knowledge on how to address this change in the labour market.

Looking closer at the new regulations adopted in the country, he also finds that there is a dichotomy between conflicting regulatory perspectives including the classic approach to small business and the employment and trade union regulations.
