2019 SEA Games: Host country Philippines expected to win big on home soil

The region is gearing up for the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Philippines, the host country, is expected to win big on home soil. This has been a pattern -- for instance, Indonesia and Thailand are both regional powerhouses when it comes to the Games, and their medal hauls consistently peak whenever they compete on home turf. The Philippines has clinched close to 3,400 medals since first taking part in 1977. The Games officially kick off on Nov 30 and go on until Dec 11.
