The region is gearing up for the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Philippines, the host country, is expected to win big on home soil. This has been a pattern -- for instance, Indonesia and Thailand are both regional powerhouses when it comes to the Games, and their medal hauls consistently peak whenever they compete on home turf.
