A Simple Way to Teach Past Perfect Simple

A Simple Way to Teach Past Perfect Simple The Past Perfect tense is usually taught as a narrative tense - which, frankly, it is, so there's no surprise there. But should we be surprised then that our students struggle so much to learn how this tense works? Shouldn't we try to contextualize it so that our students are more likely to actually use the thing?

In this video I look at how you can do precisely that, with a simple formula for teaching one application of the Past Perfect - and there's even a quick game for you here :)

Can you think of any other good ways of putting the Past Perfect across?
