Greek rescue teams were seen at work searching through the rubble in the Albanian city of Thumane on Tuesday after the country was hit by a 6.4-magnitude earthquake killing at least 21 and injuring more than 600 people.

Footage shows Greek rescuers working at the site of a collapsed building.

In addition to Greece, rescue teams were also sent to the country from Montenegro, Italy, France and othe countries to assist with search and rescue operations.

The epicentre of the earthquake was registered to be close to the town of Thumane, located to the north of Durres and Tirana. The quake struck shortly before 04:00 am local time (03:00 GMT) and could be felt in the surrounding countries. Several aftershocks were also reported.
