Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone said his team needed to "improve" in scoring goals after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hand of Juventus in Turin on Tuesday, speaking at a press conference after the UEFA Champions League game.

"We need to improve and work on these numbers, because they are bad. We need work, patience, to all put effort to generate goal opportunities because that is the way to produce them," Simeone said.

Juventus head coach Maurizio Sarri shared his immediate reaction to Paulo Dybala's acute-angle free-kick which ultimately secured a goal for his team. "Dybala scored a goal that nobody would have advised him to do. Because the first thing a coach would say in that situation is 'why the fuck are you shooting from there?' So he did something extraordinary," Sarri said. "The applause was deserved, to performance and to an extraordinary technical feat."

Juventus secured the top spot in Group D, with Atletico remaining second and needing to beat Lokomotiv Moscow in December to qualify.
