Shadegan, southwest Iran. School turned prison protected with heavy machine guns

Shadegan, southwest Iran. School turned prison protected with heavy machine guns This is Shahed Najmeh, a girls’ primary school in Shadegan in Khuzestan Province, now surrounded by
armed security forces.
Vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns are watching the traffic.
The barrels of machine guns are pointed at people — people who have recently lost their loved ones or
their friends during November protests.
This video, recently received by IranWire, was recorded on December 2 but it is reported that the armed
forces of the Islamic Republic still control the city and armed vehicle are still stationed across Shadegan
and its schools.
In the early days of November protests, there were unconfirmed reports that those arrested are
detained in schools in various cities. The closing of schools and universities gave credence to these
reports.
With the shutdown of the internet it was difficult to verify such reports.
But after internet was reconnected, videos have come out that confirm that security forces are using
schools as prisons for the detainees.
IranWire’s source who transmitted this video confirms that a group of detainees are kept in this primary
school for girls, turning it to a prison.
